Project charging for both Internal and External Rates

At the moment we have identified a feature gap in Flapps which would be a great addition to the system. We currently want to see what the internal (employee rate) and external rate (rate to customer) is against each project, currently achieving both is not possible with the current way the system is designed.

To understand our profit & loss on a specific project, we set-up the projects to use the employee rate and set the project budget to be our external budget to the client. However, this does not allow us to invoice the customer using Flapps as the internal employee rate will be used, rather than the rate we actually charge our customers. This is then complicated further as we have different rates for different clients.

It would be great to be able to have projects budgets to show for both employee and task rate billing.

Hi Garry,

good news! We have in our plan to add the second rate for employee (cost rate and billing rate), which will allow you to understand profit&loss also for per hour billed projects, not only for fixed price projects.

Flapps already supports different employee rates for different clients/projects. When you click the project team tab on Project details, you see the default rates that are defined for each employee. You can modify them specifically for that particular project.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the quick response, that's great news! Do you have an ETA on when this second rate will be implemented?

Hi Garry,

different billing and cost rates feature has gone live. In addition to employee billing rate, you can set employee costs in employee settings either as monthly salary or hourly cost rate. Let us know how you like the feature. Thanks.
